Low grade changes on a pap? Could this be an std?

My dr's office just called to let me know that my results came back and showed some ';low grade'; changes. Nothing cancerous, but it requires a 6 month follow up. Has this ever happened to anyone else? What could it mean? I love how they call in January and tell me not to worry...just repeat my appointment in JULY! Yeah, like I am not going to worry!Low grade changes on a pap? Could this be an std?
It could be HPV but do not't freek out if it is low grade then it will probobly clear up on it's own. just go to your next apt with your Dr and make sure you repet after anothe 6 months, I had High grade HPV turned cancer, there is no need to stress if it turns to high grade then there are steps to take to prevent it from going to cancer BUT STOP HAVING SEX for at least 6 months or you will keep getting it back, even if you use a condom. ant questions feel free to ask I have a lot of info.Low grade changes on a pap? It means that you have low grade type of HPV. The low grade type causes genital warts and high grade which could be cancerous causes cervical cancer. Hope this helps.
You have low risk genital warts(HPV) You may or may not develop warts it varies form person to person. Good news its not the HPV that causes cancer. Also, low risk HPV can clear from the body in about 18 months to 2 years. And its very common, they say if any person has had even one instance of unprotected sex they have a good chance of having HPV. Many don't know they are infected..esp men b/c it not as easy to test for. Women have pap tests done yearly. Let your partner know you have warts.
