This is an email do you think i can convince my professor to allow me to do an extra credit to change my grade

I do know who you are. The grade you received is based on your grades and class participation. I have re-reviewed your scores and I did not make a mistake in computing your grade. While you may not agree with it, I believe the grade is appropriate. Your midterm and final exam grade are based solely on your performance on the exam with the benefit of the curve which I gave to the entire class. Additionally I gave you 20 out of a possible 25 points for attendance and class participation (15 points for attendance and 10 points for participation). Your recollection of your class participation is very different than mine. As I explained when the class first met, I value class discussion and debate. While I cannot grade heavily for this, I do take into account how a student participates in class discussions. There are students who participated regularly by asking questions and engaging in discussions when topics were put before the class. There were others who chose not to participate at all in the class discussions and then there were those who were somewhere in the middle.

I can appreciate your concern about your grade, but I do not believe your grade should be changed. This is an email do you think i can convince my professor to allow me to do an extra credit to change my grade
It sounds like you have already tried to change your teacher's mind, and it didn't work. Give up and stop bugging him. Like I said before, an 84 is not the end of the world. This is an email do you think i can convince my professor to allow me to do an extra credit to change my grade
I think you just need to accept and respect your professor's decision. Giving you extra credit and not giving the rest of the class extra credit is giving you an unfair advantage. If anything, continuing to ask your professor for extra credit or bug him about your grade will make the matter worse.

Who can assist with the exterior grade on the outside to prevent leaks? A landscaper, foundation expert, or??

My house has hydrostatic water pressure in the walls as well as leaks, mold, mildew, etc. We know we need to change the grade of the outside soil, etc but have only lived in this home for a month and need some guidance. We were going to hire Bdry and start waterproofing from the inside out but I think we should start outside and then we can use drylok on the walls. Any input would be great on what contractor to call for guidance...what type of soil, how high the grade should be, etc. Thanks so much.Who can assist with the exterior grade on the outside to prevent leaks? A landscaper, foundation expert, or??
You need someone who installs sump pumps and knows drainage. Often contractors who install septic systems know about this type of thing or at least could point you in the right direction. You could also try calling an excavating company.Who can assist with the exterior grade on the outside to prevent leaks? A landscaper, foundation expert, or??
The basic concept is to grade everything to run away from the house. Normally you want about 1/4'; slope per foot of run for proper drainage without obstructions. If any part of your house is subgrade you should trench and water proof from the outside to best prevent water infiltration. There are a number of options depending on your particular situation.
USE A FOUNDATION CONTRACTOR. THIS WILL NOT BE A CHEAP PROCESS. YOU MIGHT BE BETTER OFF HAVING THEM CUT THE CONCRETE FROM THE INSIDE AND PUTTING DRAIN LINES IN THAT WAY. I HAVE DONE THIS WHEN IT WOULD COST WAY TO MUCH TO DIG OUT THE OUTSIDE.

AS FAR AS GRADE. 6'; BELOW SIDING AND THEN THE SLOPE HAS TO FALL AWAY FROM THE HOUSE. BEFORE YOU HAVE SOMEONE DIG UP YOUR YARD, WHAT KIND OF LANDSCAPING DO YOU HAVE AROUND YOU HOUSE? WATERPROOFING ALONE WILL NOT SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM. THEY WILL NEED TO PUT DRAIN LINES, DRAIN ROCK AND POSSIBLE A FRENCH DRAIN SOMEWHERE IN THE YARD TO PUSH WATER AROUND YOUR HOUSE.

CHECK YOUR DOWNSPOUTS ALSO. SEE IF THEY ARE PLUGGED OR HAVE THEM FLOW AWAY FROM THE HOUSE AS FAR AS POSSIBLE.

GOOD LUCK.....
It sounds like the exterior of the house could use a good french drain...this can be installed by a landscaper or yourself if you have the time.

The surface water usually goes down the slope and rides down your foundation wall until it hits a ledge then seeps into the concrete...A french drain take this water around the house into a safer place.

A french drain is a covered ditch filled with a landscapers cloth lining, perforated plastic pipe and gravel. The drain channels the surface water away from important stuff and it's hidden.

Also buy a dehumidifier for the mold and mildew.

How to get my professor to change my grade?

i'm a college Sophmore and so far i have a PERFECT GPA. i intend to keep it that way. The semester is over in 3 classes and i've asked my professors what my grades will be like. 4/5 of them said i'm doing A work so if i continue A work (on the final exam) i'll definately get an A. But one a.s.shole professor is threatening me with an A-. He can ruin my perfect GPA because he gave me a B+ on one of my oral presentations. I asked him if i can do extra credit to make up and he said ';NO!';. what should i do, what should i say to my professor? i've averaged my class grade out for this philosophy class and it's like a 92 average. i've averaged the midterm, test 1, test 2, 2 oral presentations, and a paper. He is an a.s.shole people say he is hard and a tough grader and it's almost impossible to get A in his class. He said if i get a 100 on the difficult final, he'll give me my A then he went on laughing. what do i do to get my A? i know i won't get 100.How to get my professor to change my grade?
Just remember that life goes onHow to get my professor to change my grade?
EXTRA CREDIT!
Do hard work ok
I was always an A+ student, but one class I received an A- and it was NOT the end of the world. A- is a very good grade. I could understand if you received a C, D or F
How do you know you won't? Study study study study study. Emphasize it. Tape notecards all over your mirror. Make them your computer's screen saver. Recite it in your sleep. Study. Study. Read it, tell it. Talk about it until you drive people batty. Make the highest grade you can;maybe a hundred, maybe not.

Then move on.
first poster, do you read? she stated that he said she can't get extra credit.

original poster, i was this way. you have to realize that you can't be perfect all the time. you're gonna have to deal with people like this in the work place, too. consider this a lesson and just move on.

don't universities have places where you can appeal? if you think you have a case to appeal, then do that. otherwise, i think deep down, you know that his grade was fair.

this reminds me of a movie i just saw-teaching mrs tingle. lol. not trying to give you any ideas.

also, if you have some dirt on your teacher-yeah.
The Professor has a standard. You didnt meet that standard. He isnt an A hole for having integrity. You are a spoiled brat. Welcome to the real world. You wont get full credit for substandard work unless you go work for the government.

Teacher doesn't explain work til end of assignment, gives bad grades?

I'm taking an oceanography class in college, and recently got a 70 on a video report worksheet we did during class. I'm upset because the professor didn't explain at all how to fill out the report until the video was nearly over, after at least 15 students had to get up during the video to go whisper to him and ask how to fill it out. The worksheet had questions phrased like this: ';Reproduction: __________, Habitat:_______'; Etc etc. No one knew how to fill it out though because the video was about at least 4 animals, all with varying reproduction habits, habitats, etc. At the start of the video he said nothing, and said to just watch the video all the way thru, so I thought it would make sense at the end. It didn't, and most of the class, like me, ended up handing in half-done worksheets as a result of missing the instruction...the parts about the animals were over by the time he said to just pick one. Should I complain to him? If he refuses to change our grades is it possible to go above his head on this problem? This is not the first time.Teacher doesn't explain work til end of assignment, gives bad grades?
yes you can go over his head and report him and in the mean time front him a bout it and if he still does it you and the other students keep reporting him till some thing is done a bout it

How to change my grade for college class?

My grade for microbiology in order is 81, 72, 77, 82.

80-90 is a B. 70-80 is a C.

My grades for the semester is 78, which is a C. 2 more points would make it a B. This is like a difference between answering 2 exam question correctly. That small difference could mean a difference between a B and a C on my transcript.

Should I e-mail my professor? If so, what do I say? I don't want to sound desperate. How to change my grade for college class?
I'm sorry, but as a professor, I am not even allowed to change a grade just because of the difference a grade would make for you. The only reason for changing a grade would be if I added it incorrectly. You knew what all of your grades were as the semester went along. If any of your earlier grades had been two points higher, you would have gotten a B. They weren't, so you got a C. You have to accept that. Emailing a professor to ask them to give you a grade you did not earn will just annoy them. How to change my grade for college class?
Neniaf is right. While some professors may be willing to bump the grade of a hard-working student, not all will, nor are they obligated to do so (and often may be obligated NOT to). In fact, many get quite annoyed at the numbers of students who don't ask for help all semester but then ask after the semester ends if they can get extra points or do extra credit work for a higher grade. Chances are, you aren't the only student on the borderline of a higher grade. If the prof bumps your grade, then he has to bump everyone else's grade who is within the same distance of the cutoff.

I've been on both sides of this situation. I've had students who worked their butts off all semester and just fell short of a higher grade. I would loved to have bumped them up, but it's not fair that they should get a higher grade than someone who performed equally well or better during the semester.

You could always ask the prof, but don't expect to get what you want.

  • How can i get a professor to change my final grade?

I recently took a class and received a poor grade. The class was based on 3 tests, and I performed well on 1 and 3, and extremely poorly on test 2. The reason I did so badly on 2 was that a friend of mine was in a very serious car accident shortly before the test, and as a result I spent the weekend before glued to the phone and, and during the test was emotionally distraught and unable to concentrate. However, I had not spoken to my professor about this before, and thought that if I spoke to him after, when I knew I did poorly, it would look like I was just making excuses for my performance.

I calculated the possible grades I could get based on the third test and knew I could end up with a B if I performed well. Luckily, my friend will be fine, and I studied hard for the next test and got a grade that should have landed me a B. Unfortunately, the professor changed the grading scale at the end of the class and I ended up with a B- instead. I was willing to accept a B, as I strongly believe in personal responsibility and feel I should have told my professor before the test or not at all, but this grade I am not willing to accept. However, I do not know how to email my professor without it sounding like I am making excuses, and I do not know what to ask for. Am I asking him to reconsider my grade, drop the second test, etc? Email is the only way, as I am abroad and he has gone back home. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.How can i get a professor to change my final grade?
If your final grade has already been reported (i.e. it's already officially on your transcript) you will probably have to go through a higher administrative office to get it changed. (At my school, you have to go through the Dean of Students and then an academic standing committee.) Your professor probably cannot ask to have the grade changed himself unless he made a mistake in grading. You should consult your school's student handbook to find out the specifics on how and whether grades can be changed.

That said, if your school is anything like mine, they will probably not grant your request because you did have the opportunity to discuss your situation with your professor beforehand and chose not to. My school only offers changes if there were extenuating circumstances that really made it impossible for you to work it out with your prof: i.e if you were unable to discuss it with your professor because of a bad relationship, confidentiality issues, or time constraints at the end of a term.

Glad your friend will be okay, and hope this works out for you. College is so bureaucratic sometimes. How can i get a professor to change my final grade?
Reality is, you made a choice. You CHOSE to wait by the phone and not study for test #2. Not saying it was a bad choice or the wrong choice, but it was your choice. You will take personal responsibility for your choice whether you want to or not - you may not be willing to *accept* your grade, but your prof will not change it.

If it's any consolation, telling him/her about your predicament would not have changed anything. Most universities have a VERY strict policy that only cases involving immediate family members would be considered- and even then, the prof would have had to give you a make-up test, or an entirely different test.

Think about it - what you're asking would be completely unfair to all the other students. You want special considerations that will help your grade that no one else got. You want special disposition. Regardless of the circumstances, it won't happen. It can't happen.

If you don't understand the logic, go ahead and email the prof if it makes you feel better. And when nothing happens, take solace in the fact that you are not going to be defined by one bad grade, nor does a grade reflect what you actually learned, and that when you had to choose between your grade and your friend, you chose your friend.

My girlfriend broke up with me because of her grades..what should I do?

    Okay So...

I started going out with this girl in late September.

    Things were great.

Took her on a great date, took and had a great time at a party, talked on the phone for hours, met and found out her parents really liked me, etc..

However, things started to change as grades were coming in..you see, she was struggling in a few of her classes, and asked for a break so she can raise them.Of course, I gladly respected her descision and gave her the space she nedded to raise her grades. But then, she started to avoid me, tried to ignore almost any type of contact I would try to have with her, and gave a very concernd look on her face everytime I would talk to her.

    Few days after giving her a week of space, I was talking to her about how she was doing in school. She then all of a sudden said ';I think we should break up, I really want to focus on school, I don't want a boyfriend right now, and I really just want us to be good friends.';

    This made things akward.

What should I do?My girlfriend broke up with me because of her grades..what should I do?
What can you do at all? It seems that she is more interested in her studies than she is in you, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. She's avoiding you because she doesn't want to be distracted by you during school. I';m sorry, but I think it's best just to leave her alone for now. When she learns how to multi-task both school and love, then she might come back to you.

Otherwise, the grades are just an excuse to break up with you. How did she seem when she told you that she wanted to break up with you? Sad? Reluctant? Firm? All these clues point to whether or not she is regretful about it.

However, it's great that you respected her decisions earlier. Many guys wouldn't do that, and would just be angry.

Good luck.My girlfriend broke up with me because of her grades..what should I do?
Accept her decision and support her maturity in knowing what should be important in her life.
Nothing you can do. She dumped you. Maybe it was grades, maybe it was something else. Sounds like you need to move on.
I think you should move on, she's being passive aggressive and using school as an excuse to dump you
if you reeeaaallllyyyy like her. offer tutoring. but it really sounds as though she wants to stay single. :(
I think her ';failing grades'; are just an excuse to break up with you. Why not tell her that if she wants to break up then fine, but don't make excuses for it.
help her study and hopely raise her grade. it could be also good experience for both of you
well she just needs spaces so that means that you have to move on and if she wants you back then get with her if you really like her
Don't blame her. I think she is stressed with her studies. Also relationships do adversely affect ones studies. Be friends with her. Welcome her if she calls you are meets you but you do not call her or try to meet her.

If she wants, she will come back to you. Set up a deadline for yourself. If she keeps off for six months or so, get another girlfriend and tell her your decision and the reasons behind it.
Let her be, dude. We've all got different priorities, and right now, school's on top of her list. If you really love her, you've got to respect that. And if you REALLY love her, you will wait til she is ready. Even though you're not her boyfriend anymore, you can still hangout with her can you? If you can, then do it. Stay on with it. If she too really loves you then someday she'll come back to you.
as a female, my instincts tell me, that she's either interested in someone else, or just not that much into you anymore, i feel she came up with the school thing as an excuse, so she wouldn't hurt your feelings, as she obviously cares for your feelings, but she doesn't want to be your girlfriend anymore for whatever reasons,

let her be, remain friends, and she may change her mind and want you back, so be nice
I guess you should just do what she wanted and act normal, let her focus on school and grades..it's great you supported her deciscion, but I guess you should just act around her as if she was any other normal friend of yours, you know great to hang around with, but nothing else.

Who knows maybe later on when she thinks she can handle it and is ready to balance a boyfriend and a report card full of good grades..maybe she'll come back to you if you want her :)
Sounds like she was just using the grades as an excuse to be nice. I wouldn't waste too much time thinking about it. Move on.
    school and grades?

accept it and wait if you really love her,, otherwise, look for somebody who's not as GC (Grade Concscious) as her... but i'm telling you, she's worth the time you'll spend waiting.,,
nothing you can do but give her time. she has made up her mind and you have to accept it anything you do to try to change her mind will only result in her becoming angry at you. you have only given her about 10 days of time. in your young world that seems like eternity but in reality its not a lot of time at all. back off from her for a while spend time on your own grades and pass the time maybe you'll get back together later or maybe someone else will become interested in you and you in them.
thats a break up for you you have to pick yourself up move on and find someone else if she really still felt the same way she would not have been avoiding you and would have made the time to see you i know i know this is going to be hard and really painful but shes just a stepping stone to the right person so put your chin up the right gal is out there somewhere.
What else are u supposed to do. She has made it pretty clear she doesn't want anything to do with u so leave her alone.
    Focus on your grades.

What do you do if you feel your child deserves better grades on her report card?

I have saved every paper that my daughter has brought home from school this year, on every single paper, she has recieved a 90% or above accept for one. My daughter is in first grade. I just got her first report card, and she has 2 N's on it. I am not happy about this, I feel that she deserves higher markins, one was in handwritting and the other was in Language arts. I feel, as a parent that her handwritting is pretty good for only being in first grade. It is always quite legible. I am poor, and I feel that the school is discriminating against her because she comes from a poor, single parent home. I feel that my daughter is above average in intelligence. I was expecting her to bring a report card home with straight A's, I feel my daughter is gifted. What can I do? How would I go about appealing this? I have written a letter to her teacher explaining that I feel my daughter deserves higher markings, if her teacher does not change her grades, what can I as a parent do? What rights do I have? How do I go about enforcing those rights? How do I go about requesting a formal hearing? If I am denied at a formal hearing, how do I go about taking the matter to court? What do you do if you feel your child deserves better grades on her report card?
I guess every teacher is different and she could be discriminating against your daughter. But before you jump to that conclusion, I think you should request a conference with the teacher to find out why your daughter got these Ns, how she compares to the other children in the class, and how it can be corrected.

My daughter is also in first grade and for several weeks, she insisted on writing her name in her own creative way. Don't get me wrong, I love uniqueness and creativity, but there is a time and place for everything and a big part of first grade is learning how to write properly. ... Is your daughter, by any chance, trying to incorporate her own style while the teacher is trying to teach everybody to write properly?

My daughter finally started writing her name the right way after several discussions about it. I told her that I love how she writes her name! It is so creative and it would be nice if she made me a poster with it :) But while she is in school or doing school work, she needs to write the way that the teacher tells her to. That means writing letters the correct direction, only making capital letters where she is supposed to, making the lower case letters shorter than the capital letters, etc. ... I am shocked at how much her handwriting has improved over this past week!

Anyhow, if the teacher thinks that your daughter's handwriting is poor, I think you should talk to her about it. Find out why. Ask to see examples of excellent handwriting from her classmates and compare. Also, compare your daughter's handwriting now to her handwriting over the past few weeks. If there isn't a significant improvement, the teacher may think that your daughter isn't practicing her writing skills enough.

For language arts, do the same. Ask to see your daughter's work and compare it to that of her classmates with ';excellent'; skills. I have noticed that although my daughter is very intelligent, when I look at her papers from school - she sometimes makes a lot of simple mistakes that just come from not paying attention.

I haven't heard of the rainbow curve, but I guess it makes sense. I had some teachers that practically handed out good or bad grades. Every class should have some students making high grades and some making low. When you see that a few kids have high grades - it shows that it is at least possible to make good grades in a class. And when you see that a few have bad grades, it shows that they are being challenged and not just handed As all the time.

It's good to hear that you are sticking up for your daughter when you think she is being graded unfairly :) Just remember to communicate with the teacher first and take what she says into consideration before taking it up to the school board. What do you do if you feel your child deserves better grades on her report card?
I would suggest that you arrange a parent/teacher conference with your daughter's teacher. There you can down and talk directly to her teacher and together you can address any problems your daughter may be having in class that would cause her get an 'N'. Maybe her conduct? I doubt that the teacher is discriminating against her.
First of all, when it comes to school, it doesn't really matter what we think or feel our kids should receive on their report card. We send our children to school to identify their weakness and use every opportunity to help them strengthen that weakness.

As a parent, I do not expect my child to be good at everything, that maybe the reason why she's failing the class is because it's not of her interest or the teacher isn't teaching it on an interesting level.

There are several factors why a child fails in school and it all revolves around their interest. But as a parent, I'd sit with the teacher, not write her letters, and discuss on what part of the subjects my daughter is failing and find a way how she can improve it. Then when you go home, you can think of something creative to teach your kid.

The best one I found that works for my son are the crossword puzzles for kids. It will teach them how to read, think about what they read, produce the answer, write the answer, and read the question and answer out load. This should cover your kid's writing and language difficulties.

Just keep in mind that if they fail on something, we need to show them how they failed and how to recover from that failure, so that they will know what they need to do next time around. The sooner we can teach them to identify this, then better they are going to be in school -- and in life.
Its highly unlikely that the teacher is grading her based on the fact you are poor. My mother teaches at a middle school and is confronted by parents all the time wanting higher marks for their children. Perhaps in your mind she is doing well. But it could be possible that compared to the rest of her classmates, she is not.Does she have a good grasp on the five strands of Language arts (reading, writing, speaking, listening, viewing)? Does she have learning disabilities? Also, grading systems are different in different states, what does a ';N'; stand for?
Where I live (and work) an N is not marked at this time. Is it possible that it could mean that?

Have you had a parent teacher conference with the teacher? Most teachers are very willing to sit down and I don't know a single one that does not want to work WITH the parent at home.
How much experience do you have with the average level of handwriting of first graders? Your opinion as a parent of your child's handwriting for her age level is meaningless unless you have something to base it off. Similarly for your opinion as to whether she is ';gifted';. Above average =/= gifted, and above average will not get your child straight As either.

Appeals? To court? For heavens sake, it is a first grade school report. You have the right to a teacher who isn't intimidated by other parents into grade inflation. Sure, she could give your child straight As. She could give every child in the class straight As. But what would be the point in that? Your child isn't in school to be patted on the back. She's in school to learn. The report isn't to pat you on the back either. It's to tell you what her weak and strong areas are.

Before you go non-linear over this, I suggest you make an appointment to see your daughter's teacher. Take the papers you have saved in with you. And, in a non-aggressive manner, ask the teacher to explain how the grades work, since you are confused how all these good grades can lead to a poor grade over the whole term.

The best thing you can do right now for your daughter's future education is to NOT get yourself a reputation as a sue-happy mum who thinks her daughter is perfect. But go in there ready to discuss with the teacher what your daughter's weaknesses are (yes, she will have some, every child does) and how you can help, and she won't give a monkeys that you ae a single parent or how much money you have.
The previous posters make excellent points.

If you feel that your child is gifted, then you should request that she should be tested for the gifted program.
A lot of good advice above, especially to not panic because an N may mean not graded and that doesn't reflect on your daughter at all.

I just want to add that the grades are NOT IMPORTANT in early elementary school. They won't determine anything about your daughter's future. Pay attention to how your child is placed. Is the work challenging, but not too challenging? Also pay attention to any signs from teachers or your daughter that your daughter is having behavior or social problems. Other than that this isn't part of any permanent record. Colleges don't see this. Employers don't see this. Unless you are trying to get her into a private school I would not worry about this.

    How to improve my grades.?

I have been feeling depressed lately towards the results i have been getting lately at school. I have studied for the tests and essays, but i always end up getting a C or C+. Im not sure what i'm doing wrong, my teachers say that i am doing well, all i need are little improvements, but when i improve on them i end up getting a C anyway. It is so frustrating ! What i would like to know is what are some ways i can improve my grades, what tips can you give me.

I really am determined to change my grades, but i am unsure what tasks or activities i can do to complete this. How to improve my grades.?
*Organize all of your assignments neatly-- it's best if you have a daily planner you can keep track of details in

*Study every day for a couple of hours, even on weekends, whether or not you have homework. If the teacher is going over something in class that confuses you, make a note to yourself to study it later until you fully understand the concept.

*Ask for extra credit assignments to boost your grade faster. You'd be surprised by how easy you can get points...

*Go to bed! Make sure to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night. This is one of the most important things you can do-- studies have shown that students who get more sleep almost ALWAYS get better marks. If you're sleepy in class, you'll be sluggish and unhappy.

*Don't miss a step-- if you don't understand something, ask a teacher, a friend, read up on it online, etc.How to improve my grades.?
Just do your work normally but with some effort into it. Don't try too much, and especially, don't over worry about your grades, I find that over worrying about your grades make you lower them actually. Study a lot and test yourself as well, once you completely memorized them, your ready for the tests. Idk how you still got a C or C+ for your mark if you've said you've studied and stuff. Maybe you didn't study enough? Or maybe your grades from before were really low.
    -Become Organized.

    -During class pay attention. Seriously.

-And when you do your homework, do it with all your concentration and don't rush through it.

-Every time you finish a unit/chapter, just revise through it at home. So you don't really have to study hard for a test the day before because you already know most of it.

-When you get your test results. Stay positive and look where you went wrong and correct yourself.

-And don't get too obsessed with studies because then you'll get stress.

-Ask teachers for help. They're there for a reason.

    Good Luck (:

How do I improve my grades by tomorrow?

So the quarter ended friday, and unfourtaunatly I was absent. This entire quarter has been the worst for me I think I might have to face my parents with all Bs in my major classes and two Cs in math and italian. I am scared to death because I know my parents will flip on me. So, I need to either do this, improve my grades by tommorrow at 8am, when the grades are due, get my parents not to care and be unkind about it, or run awayyy!! I reaallllllyyyy dont wana do that last one. Help me persuade my teachers to except the late assignments and change my grade at the last minute. PLEASEEEEEEHow do I improve my grades by tomorrow?
    Ok Hot Loser,

Here's our plan: Start by doing this--you don't have much time so we need to work fast--first of all, its too late to do the later assignments--they won't help you anways. What you need to do is stay up late writing a detailed report/plan including simple graphs (or just a small excel table or something) showing your plan to bring your grades back up to an acceptable level by the end of the school year. Then make sure to go to class and turn in all of your homework. SCHOOL IS EASY if and only if you turn in your homework. And homework is easy:D You can do this, I know you can. Just write up a few paragraphs about how you are going to change your grades by the end of next quarter. And write HOW you are going to go about doing it. What you are going to give up/do/plan etc. Make sure your parents know this is important to you and you've been thinking about. Good providence! How do I improve my grades by tomorrow?
Theres no way. Other than banging the teach, and I hope you dont do that.
You could ask for extra credit!
start by changing your on line name!
LOL You can't change your grades by tomorrow. Just practice your best puppy dog eyes...
I've turned in a good amount of extra credit last minute and improved my grade by one letter before.
Tell your folks to chill. I'm sure it won't be that bad.
those really arent bad maybe the 2 c's but still... u have to perswade your parents... think about his...:

how have your grades been the first part of the year?

besides this have they been going up or down?
Nothing you can do at this late stage, except to pray for divine intervention, if you are at all religious.
Won't happen by tomorrow... But you can have an honest talk with your folks and explain that you will be trying very hard to reverse this, also, try talking to your teachers about this- they just might be more helpful than you think, have faith!!
Unfortunately, it may be too late. You could go to the teachers and ask, but don't expect them to let you turn in assignments at the last minute. Your best option is to go to your parents and tell them that you screwed up, and accept the punishment they give you. That would be the responsible thing to do. Hopefully, you will learn from this and it won't happen again. Don't run away-you have to do the mature thing and face your mistakes.
Getting good grades in school is a constant battle. There is no way to improve your grades in just one day. It's either to maintain that grade or to slowly do extra assignments, extra credit, to get where you want to go. Bs are actually not that bad but if your parents are anything like my parents, a C is failing.

The best way to handle the situation, in my opinion, is to be honest with your parents. Tell them that you've tried your best. If your best isn't good enough, then make it up to them somehow. Do extra chores around the house, wash their car, things like that. Also, to get on their good side, reassure them that you'll try harder next time and that you will do better next quarter. Hopefully, they will forgive you and forget it by the time next week rolls around.

    Good luck!
be really formal about it. even if u havent been up to now, try doing everything by the book with ur teachers, sucking up and so on. do it enough and u'll die a little inside but at least u'll be in with a shot at gettin in those damn assignments. if that fails, just remember that there are plenty of ways to be successful without being academic, suits just play them down so that u go through the same misery that they went through to get to the top :)
    To be honest, and don't think I am being rude because I'm not;

but, you are the cause of your grades for last semester. I mean, if you were having trouble with a specific class, the least you could have done was ask the teacher do they have after school tutoring, or tutoring during lunch or something, I mean, if you did that (didn't specify) then it looks like you'll need more than one teachers help, etc. If the quarter ended Friday, I'm sure the school gathered up all the grades over the weekend and is preparing to print them out, meaning that the teachers could possibly be locked out of their grade books, if it is done online.
u need to face the consequences. The truth is, those are thegrades you deserve...

    To calm your parents down...

Explain to them that you realize your flaws. Tell them you understand that you were an idiot. Tell them, that there is no point in dwelling on it though, or staying angry on it. All you can do now is do better in the future...

    SO do it! :)
What makes your parents such bad people that they would stop feeding you, or clothing you, or loving you just because your grades are off just a bit... go ans tell your mom you are afraid... and let her coax out of you what is wrong... and slowly tell her...
Unfortunately, there is little that you can do to correct the situation. From a teachers perspective: Your being absent form class reflects your lack of desire to be in the class. This in turn makes if difficult for the teacher to make exceptions.

It is one of those difficult life lessons that you will learn from but may help you in the future. Good luck on the next semester.
Yah i would say ask for extra credit... and tell your parents you have been having a harder time with school before they see your grades that way its not a big shocker for them.. and Dont Runaway!
In this kind of case, I ask my professors to give me extra assignments to do. For my accounting class, I missed a lab and didn't do it for 2 weeks. I later asked my professor if he could give me extra work to do so I could grip the concept. Indeed, he did give me two more assignments to do.

I got more work out of it, but it helped me improve my mark on that lab from a 0% due to not handing in to a cumulative 86% from doing both new ones.

However, although this is one method of improving your grade, it cannot be guaranteed because of the way different professors prefer to teach.

But, it's worth a try. Ask him or her to give you an extra assignment for marking.
    except::: is spelled accept.

anyway.. you can't really do anything if they quarter already ended. if you had assignments due on friday, you should have handed them in on fri, thats the policy at my school. (get someone to hand it in, stop by school)

its unlikely that whatever assignment it was will have a tremendous effect on your grade, unless it was a big one, but most teachers make them due earlier so they can grade them before the marking period closes. so talk to your teachers. odds are they won't be able to help you.

don't stress about it. i was in a similar situation in 10th grade when my math grade was low. i totally freaked at first, but i learned to deal with it. stuff happens that can't change. my parents understood that i tried my hardest and that i'm a good student (in all honors classes) so they didn't flip on me. they were just disappointed haha.

seriously-- those grades arent even that bad. some kids fail every class. don't worry about it.
practivally no way unless you ask for extra credit! or have a test tomarrow! good luck! yahh also maybe tell the teacher and try to make them feal bad for you!! the guilt trip always works for me an if they say no start to cry then walk away!

  • I have bad grades and report cards are coming out, Help!?

ok we recently took out first semester exam at my school. So that means report cards are going out when we come back.(We r on Christmas break) I am sure i have really bad,in fact i think know. What i need help with is how do i get my parents to not get as mad. Ok here's how it is, If i get bad grades on progress reports i get in trouble and my parents know that i end up bringing it up by report cards. That's how it always has been. Well this time i didn't bring it up and know im gonna be in trouble. I know my parents r gonna be really mad and really disappointed. Im already disappointed at myself and i know i need to do better. My question is what can i do to make them not that mad at me. DO NOT say change the grades. I cant do that. Really i cant, I wouldn't know how and also i couldn't bring myself to do it. Also don't say, Tell them ur sorry. No Sorry isn't gonna do anything. I really need help with how to make them not as mad.I have bad grades and report cards are coming out, Help!?
I don't know how your family works, but it sounds like you have to accept their being mad.

But, constructively, see if you can work out a plan, either on your own, or with your parents, on how you can do better. It sounds like you mutually agree on the goal, which is infinitely better than if (say) grades were very important to your parents, but you didn't really care. If your problem is distraction, decide to have the discipline to not have the computer or TV on while you're doing your homework, and even turn off your phone if you have one. If the problem is overload, figure out what activiites you need to drop. Or, if you have a lot of honors or AP classes, you might decide to go down one step to the normal class - you'll learn more when the pace is matched to you, and you could end up being the smartest person in the class.

If you only want to do better, but make no positive plan, then nothing will change next time.I have bad grades and report cards are coming out, Help!?
    buy them a gift,
Take the punishment. You obviously deserve it. You're the only person at blame for this.
what i did once was just forge a new copy of my report. I made the marks good, not great. This got my parents to actually believe it, they were impressed that i had improved, but still wanted me to do a bit better.

You can do that, or you can just face your parents and grow a set. LOL nvm i saw u dont want to change grades. Telling them sorry is useless too. Just make sure whatever you do make sure u seem intent on doing better.
The best advice I can give you is stop smoking weed and occupying your time with screwing every dude at school and putting your nose into the books.

Not you? Then don't hang around with the friends ho do it. your number one grade-breaker right here.
when they get it don't give them any excuses or anything. say you've been really stressed and havn't been really concentrated on school. tell them your plan on making them better for the next semester. it should help at least a little
Tell them that u'll do better next time
smack them upside the head. Tell them they are the biggest influences on you, and your bad grades are their problem, and they shouldnt yell.

but if they're Asian, then you might want to hide under the bed and never come out since you got that B-...
First, Don't think how your parents think about you, think how do you feel about your grades, Do you Know that recently a lot of teenagers have the same problem that you have, because they tried to get good grades only for your parents don't get mad.

Think big, you know that study is not easy, because it need time to do,is like go to work and you need to do because is your job, All kind of jobs need practice to do better the job, all subjects need practice to pass the tests and get good grades. yesterday you can't do nothing but now you can think big. If now you study hard in the future you will have work less , but if now you can't study hard in the future you will have to work more. Because now is your time to study, you don't have to go to work, or take care of children etc. I think your parents are proud of you because you are a good person thinking how they fell about you. you are their daughter but, your future is only yours, Think who earn more money,a person that study and have a good job, or a person that only go to school and don't graduate and have a very bad job because didn't have time to study, YOUR FUTURE IS IN YOUR HANDS. study and good luck.

I got a terrible grade and i want to die?

My teacher gave me a 75/100 on my paper in Mexico U.s. borderlands class. I never get C's.... it's 25% of my grade, this book report. My college gpa is 3.97 and I came here on scholarship, and I only have one quarter left and why is he doing this to me? Why does he hate me?

My parents brought me up to something from nothing. My dad works 40+ hour weeks even though he has lots of health problems to put me through college and I tried so hard, and I got a scholarship for having good grades and being a Mexican/Asian minority so why does my teacher want to go and ruin things for me? How can I make him change the grade?I got a terrible grade and i want to die?
wow, your mexican/asian, that's hot.I got a terrible grade and i want to die?
u can't make him change it it's impossilble bc that's what u got.

i would try to inmprove next time by studing,

also if u want to have time for your friends at the same time plan a study group bc it's pretty fun truly.

    soz if i didn't help
    its not that bad,........
Don't sweat the grade... You can't make him change it. He will work with you if you ask for the help. Ask him for a second chance.
    3.97!!!!! 3.97!!!! OMG!!!

Dont be so hard on yourself. This is just ONE paper!!!!!!!!! for ONE class!!!

You should just try to look at this in a less depressing way. Please dont let your distress over this paper affect the way you'll perform on future assignments.

BTW--- I'm in college and I know some people who'd kill just to get a 3.0, let alone a 3.97!!!!
you cant blame your teachers for giving you a bad grade

Life is hard and you need to learn how to deal with it

Getting a low grade isnt the end of the world

all u need to do is work hard and hard.

    HARDWORK IS KEY TO SUCCESS

Just put ur mind and soul to your education
failure is part of success and anyone with a 3.97 GPA should be able to figure that out. Remember, book smarts cannot buy street smarts.
Why does everyone have to blame someone else for their troubles? ....';he hates me';.....maybe your paper wasn't any good. Ask him what you could have done to make it better, then ask if there's any way you can get extra credit.

How do i ask my math teacher to raise my grade?

im in sports and i need to get a D and above but im failing math, i already asked my math teacher if i can do extra credit but he said no, my coach talked to him and i already begged him..what should i do next? if i don't get my grade changed then i cant play this whole season! How do i ask my math teacher to raise my grade?
Talk to him and ask him what you need to do to get the D. If the guy can't work with you then he shouldn't be a teacher. How do i ask my math teacher to raise my grade?
    Study harder
Do the extra credit anyway. First of all you need it. Second of all it will be far more impressive that you showed some iniative. Most likely by posting here, or in mathematics, what year you are in and what subject people, could point you to stuff. Or put together a big presentation on why math is important, and how its used to design the graphics in video games. Start with linear algebra.
Study. Also, I doubt the bribe thing will work, but, you can always get a chick to blackmail him that normally works.
i think he is expecting some thing from u.... just be close with him... he will then say his need..then everything will be all right.....
Easy! After your test papers have been checked and you got a low score, bully a few classmates or make a few friends be your witness that they keep passing notes with questions about the test in it. He will get angry with your friends but WILL make you retake the test. It worked for me.
Drop him a æ‹¢20, it worked for me.
The best solution is to study!!!
Instead of asking him to raise your grade, how about asking him for help with your math? You need math in life, man. All the other math courses ahead of you will build on the foundation of this one. Get help, and bring that grade up through hard work, rather than pressure from your coach. You'll feel as good about it as you would if you scored the winning point in the game.
    Bribery always works ;)
Ask a guidance councilor if they can help you out with the teacher. I hate to sound like your parent, but make sure that your work is priority because you will get these teachers who just don't care. And believe me if they have it out for you they'll stick to it. If your having trouble in school make sure you get some help with it. If your good in sports and can get scholarships, your grades need to be up there as well.

but again go to your guidance councilor or your parents, sometimes this can help!

    Good Luck
Um. Do your work, pay attention in class, and study for tests.

THATS how you raise your grade.
Gutted. Theres not much you can do im guessing

    Try sexual favours?

    Only kiddin.. really don't know
Boy learn from me. Work work and work. Study more. Find time to study than spending with friends.

Gun %26amp; knife will lead you to the cops.

Tipping will lead to your Pricipal and out of school too.

Begging will only degrade your esteem.

Only besto is to study well.
you need to pay attention in class
Math is a language like english, if the teacher will not raise the grade from extra credit. Then you will have to study more to raise it from the current level.

The more problems you do the easier it will get. If you are having problems with a particular type of problem you must go above and beyond the homework to understand it, do many, many problems. If you are having issues with your homework, get a tutor or extra help, show the teacher you are making an effort and maybe they will also make an effort.

My grades went from A's to D's...?

So, I used to be getting mostly A's with a few B's and I was doing fine. Now, as I'm coming up to my exams, I'm getting ALL D's. Everything is a D and I don't know what has happened. I'm still doing my work and I do study at times, but I don't know what has happened! I don't want all those years to be wasted now, but I don't know what to do.

PLEASE Help, I really don't know how to change my grades...My grades went from A's to D's...?
Talk to your teachers. Tell them your situation about how much you are trying. This way the teacher will feel that you are making an effort. Ask how you can improve your grades, extra essays, etc. If the teachers know what's going on, they'll ';forget'; the D when handing out final grades.

If you are coming to class late or are anxious to leave early, that will PISS a teacher off. I tell my students that those little things stop me from giving them good grades. My grades went from A's to D's...?
you should put more effort into your work

dont be worried by this this is probably a kind of warning for you to step it up for your exams

speak to your teacher about it and find out where you went wrong
Time management.... just a small tip.

It depends on what format your report card is in.

If it's on a web page, what you'd have to do is download the webpage (probably under File -%26gt; Save Page on your web browser), open up the .html file in notepad or whatever, find (CTRL+F) where it says B and change it to an A+ (make sure to change the GPA too, by the way).

Another option would be, if you are using the Firefox web browser (which you should be, if you aren't, it's quicker and more secure than Internet Explorer) would be to download a utility called 'Firebug', which lets you modify the code of web pages on-the-fly.

It's a little complicated to use, but the basic idea would be to open up firebug, click 'inspect', move your move over to the place where you want to edit, click, then go down and edit the code/text to make it say what you want it to day.How to change my grade on the computer. please help?
what ya can do, which i do not condone, take the html, make a website, and then change the grades that way.

Have you ever got a grade changed for you child?

Man i am good! I have a son in 1st grade. He came home with a spelling test with a 40 F. I started looking at it and I was confused because the works looked spelled right to me. Maybe a letter or two backwards or something but they were right. I wrote a note to the teacher explaining how i felt and he changed the grade to 90 A and wrote a note saying he was sorry, he just couldnt read it untill i said that and then he looked harder.

I was so happy i stuck it in his school memories book to look at when he get's older.Have you ever got a grade changed for you child?
thats good but you should be aware of the fact he is spelling things backwards so keep an eye on thatHave you ever got a grade changed for you child?
my mom has told a teacher off once b4 when the teacher kept giving me dhall for no reason and then i wouldnt go so i didnt get in trouble so not actually just telling a teacher off
maybe instead of patting yourself on the back you should look into the letters being backwards. i think it is called dyslexia.
Yes. This is a definite. I am proud of you. I ';wish'; that everyone had a strong sense of caring about their children. The world is still missing that important element. Remember this, What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? - Romans 8:31. The Lord daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. - Psalm 68:19. Peace, Love and God Bless.
6 year olds can have dyslexia. If you can see something, you can see it in a dyslexic way.
I think you did the right thing........ sometimes teachers get in a rush, and don't always pay attention....... it's important for parents to go that extra mile for their children, this really wasn't a significant grade change, it was a correction , or fixing the teachers lazy eye?... hehehehe

Keep up the good work mom

    hugs and blessings

    Susan
last year my daughter who was in 4th grade had a lot of trouble in spelling. we had studied real hard for one test and I told her if she brought home an A I would give her $1.00 that Friday she came home upset because she had got a B+ she had missed 2 words then when I looked at it one of the words was spelled correct. So I told here to take it to her teacher on Monday. when she showed her teacher he said it was to late and that he could not fix her grade so I went in that afternoon and talked to him and told him that the word was correct and he said that a parent helper had corrected the paper and must have missed it. so he changed her grade to an A- so she got her $1.00. And it showed her that she can stick up for herself and if I need to I will be there for her. And it showed the teacher that some parents do pay attention.
You go, girl! See all that practice changing F's to B's when you were in school, really paid off!

How do i get my grade changed for my report card?

my english teacher gave me a D but we straightened it out so now i have a B but i want to know if there is so,ething else that i have to because we just got our first report cards. But now i really need to know what else i have to if there is anything else. Also i wanna know if i will be getting a new report card. How do i get my grade changed for my report card?
If it was a mistake on the teacher's part and has now been corrected, the teacher should go to the office and fill out a grade change form. If report cards have already been given out, they probably will not automatically give you another one. You can go to the office and ask for a copy of your latest report card (or better yet, get your parent to ask so they won't question you about why you need it). If the updated report card does not show the change, go back to your teacher and remind them to change the grade. How do i get my grade changed for my report card?
how did u straighten it out w/ your teacher??

Sounds like something you need to take up with your teacher or someone else at school. We don't know your school's policies.
Study. Make it a game! Have fun with it! Your advisor (main teacher) may have more advice for you. But don't procrastinate!
If you just got a report card than you'll have to wait until the end of the next grading period to get another one. If you want to get a better grade than a B this time ask your teacher if they have any extra credit assignments that you could do. That can actually bring your grade up a lot!
You probably will not get a new report card. Ask your teacher to change your grade on your report card and to initial it.
No i do not think you will be getting a new report card. If your teacher did make a mistake ask that she change it and initial it.

How can a 9th grade child change high schools?

my daughter just got in to a h.s that she doesnt like at all.how can my daughter change her h.s?How can a 9th grade child change high schools?
Call the school that she is interested in and see what is required. You will have to withdraw her from the one she is currently in. My daughter wanted to be home schooled after her Sophomore year. She took all her classes on line with Keystone National High School. Worth every penny of it. She was motivated, there were tutors available as well as teachers. It is not as easy as one thinks, home schooled youngsters are brighter, more motivated, and excel in most of their classes. Her exams were done on line, open book. Most work done was in essay form. She was involved with the Youth Symphony as well as the Chicago Youth Chamber Group. Very busy person. I had to withdraw her, sign a few papers and off we went! Never any regrets. Check it out if she is interested.

How do I explain the downturn in my grades?

Question: How do I explain the downturn in my grades?

Question Details: I applied to UVA early decision this year. After I submitted my mid-year grade report, I received this letter form the UVA Dean of Admission: Ms. Campbell, I have just reviewed your mid-year grades and am distressed to see that your academic performance took a significant downturn. We are quite concerned about this change in your past performance and your admission to the University is in jeopardy unless I receive a satisfactory explanation from you. Please write to me as soon as possible with an explanation for this change in your grades. Sincerely, John A. Blackburn I know nobody knows my circumstances, but how should I approach this? I'm extremely worried at this point.

ThanksHow do I explain the downturn in my grades?
I have been so excited about going to your University that I have been spending to much time telling everyone the good news. Everyone knows now so Ill get back to the booksHow do I explain the downturn in my grades?
well, given that we dont know the circumstances, the truth is always the best. Honesty is the best Policy. Even if the reason is embarrassing, I bet they will understand. If you lie, you could jeapordize your whole college career! Just be honest. Good Luck!!
    Say you were in rehab.
Well, what is the reason? If you have a good one, let her know. You can fake your way through and say your great aunt Gerttie died, and you are now in counseling to deal with the guilt.... but the question really is valid. She (Campbell) doesn't want you to come to school only to bomb.

  • What are some good excuses for a College Grade Appeal?

I want to appeal a grade in one of my college courses, but I don't really know how to go about it. Also is medical illness considered an excuse like ADD, Depression, Anxiety Disorder etc...

Do you think the professor, head of the department or dean will buy it if I have legitimate medical documentation and such? Also what are some excuses people have used to get their grade changed?

I really need to know I am desperate! What are some good excuses for a College Grade Appeal?
You can only appeal if there was a legit mistake with the grade, not just an ';excuse'; you ask people on Yahoo! Answers. Go to class and do the work to improve your GPAWhat are some good excuses for a College Grade Appeal?
ADD, depression, and anxiety disorder aren't good reasons to ask for a grade to be changed. They are, however, good reasons to ask the university to help you in your FUTURE classes. If, for example, you have a diagnosed learning disability or similar, and if that means that you need extra time to complete exams, for example, then the university can arrange for you to have that extra time.

Likewise, if you were in the middle of the term, and your depression caused your world to come crashing down around you, you could get a medical/hardship withdrawal from all your classes, and do them again once you were well.

But not after the class is done.

As another poster said, the only way you can get a grade changed is if the grade was in error. Say, you did pass in a paper, but the teacher missed it and thus your grade is too low. If you can prove the grade was in error, you can have it changed.

If you got a very poor grade, most colleges will allow you to retake that class. When you get a better grade next time, the new grade will take the place of the old grade in your GPA. The old grade will still show on your transcript, but it won't count against your GPA.

Please speak to your academic advisor about all this.
Unless you can bribe your professor with a ridiculously large amount of money or you have just been involved in a plane crash (where the plane crashed on you), your chances of changing a grade in college is lower than nil.

Having a medical condition such as ADD, depression or anxiety disorder will only prove the professor right in giving you a failing grade. The main argument would be, by this time, you should have already adapted well enough with whatever condition you might be suffering from or else simply quit college.
The only legitimate (and even remotely feasible reason) folks get grades changes is if there was an error in the entry or calculations of your grade. Example: He did not add your test scores up correctly or missed one in the calculations.

If this is the case you simply take all your graded tests with you (or copy them) and turn them in with your professor's boss. Usually a Dean or Assistant Dean in that department.

Medical reasons don't get grades ';changed';. Students with severe medical issues should withdraw from classes as long as they realize they will loose all the money and time they invested in that class.
I got my grade changed by saying that my orginal professor abruptly left and the new professor had a VERY heavy accent I couldn't understand him, when I would ask him to repeat himself he would get upset, etc. Then I put a bunch of work along with it, just anything and everything and they bought my D to a C, I also told them that I would have to take the whole class over because my major required at least a C and how it would effect my graduating (the bottom ine for you and them) etc. Good Luck:)

Make sure your appeal is neat %26amp; includes lots of stuff, emails, work, I don't care if it's from another class!

Just tell him if he doesn't straighten up you are gone.

If he still doesn't do it.

Can a teacher change your grade because of your ';attitude';?

The other day in English, we had a pop quiz on The Oddessey. I originally got 100%, and on the quiz I wrote ';a waste of paper'; because there were like two answers on it. I wasn't trying to offend her in any way, but somehow she found it offending and wrote on it ';Sassy! Bold! I'm sorry I wasted your paper on studies! I didn't bother recording this grade - Waste of my time! Zero! Change your attitude! FINAL! No discussion!'; This grade affected my overall grade by 5%, which is two whole grades. I don't think it's right how she can change my grade because of my ';attitude';. What do your think?

    Sorry so long!

Answer, please! Can a teacher change your grade because of your ';attitude';?
he/she can not do that, if your in high school or middle school tell your parentsCan a teacher change your grade because of your ';attitude';?
no it isn't right - if she didn't like what you wrote she had a right to say it was not related to the question - she had a right to say it jumped track - she had a right to say this assignment isn't about paper it is about ______

talk to her - tell her you see her point (if you do) - apologize or live with the results - what she did is not against the law - what you did was not against the law BUT

    it was her class

    her test

and that is how life works.
So what was the point of writing :';a waste of paper'; on the quiz? Are you part of the Save a Tree foundation? What possible reason is there for writing this on the quiz other than challenging your teacher's methods or authority?

As far as her methodology was concerned, she may have chosen a different alternative (detention, parent conference, or something else), but this seemed to have gotten your attention. Maybe next time, you'll keep your unsolicited opinion to yourself and enjoy your 100.
Your attitude failed and therefore she took that into account when grading your paper.

It's her classroom and you're the student. She makes the rules. Maybe next time you'll think about being rude.

Should I even bother with a grade change?

My freshman year of high school was very difficult. i was in the highest biology class (there are 3 lanes: accelerated, advance, and one). of course my parents encouraged me to take accelerated..(advance college level class)

It was THE HARDEST CLASS i've ever taken. the homeworks were needed to be googled for an answer ! after every night's homework people would be coming into class knowing more than what was in the reading from the textbook (which is was a standard CA textbook that is also used for biology 1)

it was so hard i ended up with a C in the class. The next semester I dropped to Biology 1a (advance-middle lane). I started slacking off in that class because of how sick i was from the subject (*i studied A LOT in accelerated*. i made it my top priority=did badly in other classes).

So i ended up getting a lazy for biology advance. she didnt put in my extra credit in properly (she made it out of an assignment..). from my calculations i should have gotten at least a B- in the class instead of a C.

i talked to her earlier this year (im now a sophomore). she said she'd email me after looking it over..she never emailed me..

should i go talk to her about it? will colleges really care about freshman year? Please tell me everything you know.Should I even bother with a grade change?
Colleges don't look at freshman year. You're not ruined as long as you got credits from that class(which you should have for getting a C unless you go to some crappy catholic school.) Please don't make it sound like you really deserved a B either and it's the teacher's fault you shouldn't have to depend on extra credit, and if you get points out of it that should be all you need. You got a C, you deserved a C.

Anyone can give me a tip for how to say or write to my professor?

I turned in my essay. I spend a lot of time for it and I expected to get a good grade. However, he gave me B instead of A . I asked him the reason because I really needed an A for my transfer. He suggested me to write to him about requesting the grade change. How can I write a letter nicely and diplomatically? Can anyone share a few words to move or touch professor's mind to change my grade?Anyone can give me a tip for how to say or write to my professor?
use exactly what you just told us.

You can put in the letter that you needed the A and you were working very hard to get that. You didn't expect less than an A due to all your efforts and that changing your grade will help improve your total grade.

But yet again, you also need to see his point f view and explain that you do understand that too.

You can ask to go over that writing with him and try to rewrite it to make your grade on that paper to an A.Anyone can give me a tip for how to say or write to my professor?
Make it really neat, formal, and gramatically correct. Explain that you put in a ton of effort and you need it to transfer. Mention that you understand that it is his decision but you would really like the grade change. English professor? Put in good vocab, etc.
OK, in your letter you should emphasize the key points you made and how relative they are to your subject.

How would I go about asking my English teacher to change my previous grade in her class?

I recently found an old progress report that stated I had an A for the first quarter of English class; which was last semester. However, since then we have finalized the instructional time and completed a final exam which decided that my final grade was a B. My grades are still up on the internet, and I recently noticed that my first quarter grade was marked as a B instead of an A. I would really prefer if my grade was an A, as it would give me straight A's for the year. I've noticed several of my peers who got the exact grades for the class as me ( all B's ) and received a final grade as an A! How would I go about informing my teacher about this, and persuading her to change it in the most polite, effective way possible?Change my grade or not? Help!?
Tell her exactly what you're telling me. That you found an old progress report that said you had an A (although are you sure it was your report card, because progress report for me just means halfway through the quarter- make sure this isn't an error on your part) and you were wondering if she could just double check it to make sure. If you are the one with the error, just politely thank her for her time and willingness to check it.

How do I get back at my fave teacher :3?

Me and my wood shop teacher (my favorite class) have this practical joke think going on. It all started when he locked me in a display case at the end of last year. Since then we have gone back and forth pranking each other. Like, I duck taped him to his chair, he glued me to my deck chair. I put perfume in his hat ( he hates perfume), he hid my Co2 car. His latest stunt was when he dumped a bucket of wood and acrylic shavings on my head and it took me the rest of the day to get it out. Now I'm out of ways to get back at him. What is a new way to pull a prank on him? He is very let loose, messes with all of his students, never changes grades, and I NEED REVENGE! :)How do I get back at my fave teacher :3?
    Find an online shop that sells ';Fart Spray';

Spray his classroom. And him if you can. ( I would'nt recommend admitting to this prank though. For obvious reasons)

Spray the rest of the school while you're at it.How do I get back at my fave teacher :3?
Paint grenade in his car. You can get one or a box at any paintball store on or off line.

It's totally washable since its for paintball.

How should I get revenge on my teacher?

Ok I'm planning a whole bunch of pranks for graduation and school, but I recently added a new one to the list: revenge. My asshole teacher accused me of cheating or to be exact helping a kid cheat. I wasn't and he refused to reverse his decision. I now wanna get revenge on his *** for giving me a 0. Heres what I got planned:

A: Exploding Pen, buy and place an exploding pen on his desk and boom!

B: Powder Laxative in coffee. I'm assuming he gets his coffee from the school.

C: Change grade, this is actually easy but dangerous

D: Go back to the drawing boardHow should I get revenge on my teacher?
    B !

i think that would be reeeally fuuny,

%26amp; that day you dont have to do work, cuz your teacher would just be running to the toilet every 5 min.How should I get revenge on my teacher?
maybe you should just poop on his desk??? that would be funny
    Definitely B that'd be hilarious
    Fake poop.

Help to get around the school system.?

I'm trying to help a few friends and myself do things such as cheating on a paper, getting past school websites, making money at school, changing grades in school, getting past school rules, getting past the rule of you can't dye your hair an unnatural color, a way to get piercings, fake notes, and just stuff to help students get through school, and cool stuff to basically show off. lol ik this all sounds really bad, but i really don't want people answering this with lectures about how i'm a delinquent. please help.

    Thanks,

SelzirHelp to get around the school system.?
Some of those I wouldn't recommend, like changing your grade. You can get in real trouble for that. And if you're planning on going to go to college cheating will hurt you so the cool factor isn't worth it.

But piercings, get ones that are under your clothes, notes you can just practice your parent's signature, I've never heard of not being able to dye your hair, so I don't know. Maybe find a case where someone had that colour hair naturally (or make one up) and show that proof to the teachers so you can't get in trouble. To make money at school sell stuff just outside property, if you're allowed to leave at lunch. For example candy you can get cheap and sell for more or formula pages for some classes.

Something fun I did was throw my bra onstage during a concert. Also my school had an area with two colours of rock that spelled out the school initials and I changed it to say SEX. Wear outrageous clothing, that gets you noticed. I had a pair of cowboy boots that I was known for.

Hope this helps a bit, have fun but don't get caught ;)Help to get around the school system.?
HAHAHA you are not just a delinquent you are a dumb delinquent!
The best way to get around these problems is to drop out of school. I wonder why you are in school at all.

How can I change information on my college application once it has been submitted?

During my application process, I entered in my grades for their respective courses, only to find that I had been working with an incorrect transcript the entire time. Now I need to change a few grades on my college app, but I can't seem to find any information on how or where to do that. Can anyone help? How can I change information on my college application once it has been submitted?
Contact the university you applied and ask to speak with an admissions counselor and tell them your situation. They will work with you and your application. Good luck.

  • How can I get my life back on track? (Girl's answer only)?

hi. well, my life right now is like a cycle of torture. i've been depressed and even looked in my closet for something i could kill myself with. (even though i would NEVER have the guts to commit suicide)

    here goes.

after my best friend (who I would only talk to about this kinda stuff) moved schools, (i only see her once every month or two) it kinda brought out all the other bad things in my life. i felt like a failure, i felt fat, ugly, stupid. then, when i felt at my worst my other best friend (let's call her Kate) sent me an email saying i was mean. it tore my apart. i asked why, and she said that i was grumpy all the time. well, that didn't make me feel happier. she was still friends w/ me though. then, she told me that our ex-friend who was popular talked behind her back. So Kate sent her an email about how she hated her. Then the popular girl fired at me and said i was a b****. then, Kate said there was a missunderstanding and that she forgave her. I asked why, and all she said is that it was too complicated. I kept asking why, but she never answered me. I felt like i was left in the water and didn't know how to swim. So, all that plus Kate changing, grades, parents, boys, puberty. I feel depressed 24/7 and sometimes suicidal.

So.... basically how can i just forget all this and move on.How can I get my life back on track? (Girl's answer only)?
Ok, so, it sounds like ';Kate'; needs a bit of a reality check here. What she is doing is stirring the pot because she doesn't have anything better to do. She really shouldn't be getting in the middle of things that have to do with you. You deserve to know what happened but at this point you probably won't find out. But the truth is none of this is worth your time. I know its hard to believe cause these girls may be the only ones you associate yourself with, but they are the ones with issues. Some girls just need to cause random drama to make themselves feel better. From what I can tell you are definitely the more mature one in this friendship and once you put all this behind you and realize how much of a waste of energy this is, you are also the bigger person. It might be hard now but try and get into the habit of not lingering on whatever these girls say. They are only looking for a reaction so don't give it to them. You can still be friends with this girl but you need to make her understand that you don't want all the drama that she's concocting. I know where you're coming from and it sucks to be in a situation like that but the fact that you are acknowledging it means you are at somewhat of a turning point.

When it comes to all the other stuff remember that you're still young and you have your whole life ahead of you. things will come and go but the most important thing is that you have confidence in yourself and that you can keep going no matter what life throws at you. This will take work but its worth it. Try channeling these feelings into something creative.

Just remember that suicide is really not the answer to your problems. Its just a way of giving up and giving up is not what someone with promise and a future should do.

I hope I helped. :) Stay strong!!!!!How can I get my life back on track? (Girl's answer only)?
go and get some depression pills
Listen to some good music and dance! Laugh! Just be happy, even if you have to fake it. Because if you fake happiness long enough, you will eventually be happy.
Ditch Kate, and find new friends who actually care about you. You'll discover that everything can be fixed and put back together, try to focus on things in your life that are happy. good luck!
It's not a matter of forgetting it. It's a matter of taking the lessons out of all of this and re-framing them into something good. From what you said above it seems ALL that you are focusing on are your losses and not the good things in your life.

Right NOW--sit down and write 10 good things that you have in your life! Each day...look over and read these good things. Just because your best friend move away, does not mean you can still chat with her. Schedule a time once a week to talk--either online or by phone (if you have free long distance).

Get involved with some positive volunteer activity---on a Saturday morning...volunteer to help at a food bank, a shelter, library, nursing home, etc etc. This will take the focus OFF of you and give you a better perspective that life is not just about what is going on with US.

By volunteering --it will also help you--get out of the childish--antics that girls get into--power plays bitc* calling etc.

Also, learn to stop allowing people to take up space in your head that are not paying rent.

Learn to be like a duck--a duck has a thin coat of oil on it...that prevents the water from absorbing into their feathers....if the water did absorb into their feathers they would sink!

Be like a duck, pretend you have put on a thin coat of oil and let the crap--of other people run off of you!
    Hello Liz,

I think you should find some new friends who like you for who you are. Friends are important at a time like this. Hang out with some nice girls/guys at school.

Think optimistically about everything! Look in the mirror and think, 'what pretty hair!' 'what beautiful eyes!'

Start your day right, good music, tasty breakfast and so on. This should help your overall mood throughout the day. Focus only on the important things.

Suicide is not a good idea, why take your own life? You have so much to live for!

Think about the things you love, surround yourself with those.

    Hope this helped!

    Good luck!
calm down. think about things from another perspective. i find that meditation does wonders in the long run especially once you get the hang of it. it makes things less stressful. anyway. other things i would suggest are finding another friend to support you. your current best friend doesn't seem very reliable and seems a tad manipulative. so find another person that will be supportive of you. you very well might have a friend already that would make a great true friend once you build up a better relationship. all this has worked for me. i have a good friend that supports me, helps me deal with my depression without having to take medication, and who i trust with everything. meditation works too because it helps you figure out what matters and what doesn't. same with looking at a different perspective. best of luck.
This may not be what you want to hear, but time. I have a friend who is in cheer-leading, dance, gymnastics, very smart, and extremely beautiful. For a long time I hated her more than anything for getting all the boys, and the attention. The thing is, talk it out. Your life is like a book, God will give you the book and make you read each chapter. Right now, your ready to burn the book and just give up. Don't. Just turn the page. Or, you can try to erase the page, and rewrite it. You may not be able to erase the mistakes, but you may change it for the future. Try talking to your friend, figure out why she's doing this. Don't take ' no I'm not gonna tell you ' for an answer. Either that, or move on, it's hard, but you may have to do it. I would talk to someone, therapist, parent, family, anyone. Best of luck, PuggyNitro

I want to fire my teacher?

If I go to the front office and tell the principle how my teacher doesn't teach anything, talks about his sex life, talks about how he does drugs, openly talks about drinking and smoking. Not to mention favoring students over others, changing grades, showing movies every day (like transformers and hitch)

By the way, I don't talk to too many people in that class cause I think the class is FILLED with complete idiot. I usually only talk to my friend Ariel and Melany plus I hate the teacher.

So my friend walks into class looking kind of sad so my teacher says

';Oh. damn. You look like a vampire. Are you from central Hungary or something'; (THATS WHERE IM FROM)

    my friend is like ';no?'; so my teacher is like ';Don't tell Rita I said that (me) cause shes one of those weird quiet girls so she might do a school shooting or something';

If I tell this to the office, will they fire him?

Do they care about student opinion?I want to fire my teacher?
Your teacher apparently has given up on teaching your class. In the Los Angeles Unified School District, a lot of teachers at Locke High School have given up on their students and let them play cards in class. Or they show them feature-length movies during their classes. Either way, they are not teaching anything.

Your principal really may not care that your teacher has given up on teaching. It may be that your school itself is like Locke High in LA.

In any event, it is okay for you to write a letter of complaint about your teacher. You should stick to narrating the facts about what goes on in class, however, without throwing in evaluative comments.

If your principal doesn't support you, you may have to go to the school board.

Harleigh Kyson Jr.I want to fire my teacher?
well you can get a hidden tape recorder advice and stick it in your pocket and let it record everything being said that day and go to the principal and show them what was said because that was very unprofessional for what he or she did
No, you cannot fire a teacher.

However, you can document your observations and file a complaint. However, unless other students also file a complaint, chances are nothing will come of it. It will be more helpful if your parents file the complaint.

If the teacher is confessing to committing illegal activities, you can notify the local legal authorities. It is best if you have an audio recording of these confessions.
yeah u would have to have some proof. so maybe recording it or having some ppl back you up. Thats one crazy teacher, although i wudnt mind watching movies in my classes..hehe
Schools always ignore the students. Get as many kids as you can to write down EVERYTHING this teacher does and says. Put them all together and have your parents send them ALL to the principal AND copies to the district superintendent.

Have your parents write a cover letter addressed to BOTH the principal and superintendent stating they are going to file complaints with the school board if this is not stopped IMMEDIATELY !!!

    WHAT AN IDIOT
talk to other students that agree with you, then go to the principle and say whats going on, the more students go talk to the principle then the better and they will do something other than 1 student going, but do something about it and take action before things go worse... good luck!
Lol I have a teacher like that except he's old and nice. The school may take disciplinary against the teacher if enough students complain and make something out of it. For instance, recently the P.E teacher was fired because she threw a ball at a kids face and a bunch of people told the principal and she was fired
You can't fire him because you're not his employer.

Depending on what district he teaches in, he may be so protected by contract that getting him fired is a 3-year process. (Most districts don't have contracts like that, but some do.)

Bottom line - get your parents involved. Have them get in touch with other parents of kids in his classes, and have them present several complaints to the administration. If you complain, the most he'll get is a slap on the wrist, if that. If your parents make a stink, more will be done. He may not get fired, but at least you won't have to hear about who he's slept with lately.

It sounds like you're in a school that's given up teaching; I'm really sorry to hear that. Is this the only teacher that acts like that, or are there others? If there are others, the school likely won't do anything except ask him to watch his mouth; if he's the only one, they'll be more likely to act.

    Good luck...
You can't fire your teacher. That is like saying that you want to fire a police officer or the mail carrier. Only their employer can do that. If you tell the office the things you said in your first paragraph, they may seek some confirmation from other students. If the whole class says the same thing, they will probably just talk to him, not fire him. Of course, if he doesn't change any of these behaviors, they could fire him years later if they got enough evidence of this.

What you said in the second paragraph is not a big deal. It sounds like you just don't appreciate his sense of humor. If he really thought you were a potential school shooter, he would never have said anything like that.

I have to wonder why, if he was so terrible, you waited until June to bring this up?
i think you should say something

he is giving the students messege to use drugs to drink and to be sexual active

go to the boss and tell

    Middle School teachers, need help!!!!?

Currently I'm an elementary school teacher, and yes I've had enough dealing with little kids. I have taught middle school english before, for a short period of time and I liked it a bit better because I focused on one lesson, one concept all day long.

I would like to know though, is it worth it for me to change grade levels? How hard is it to work as a middle school teacher all day long for a whole year? Do you recommend teaching math (that's my strength)

Do I have to keep attending parent meetings? What are some of the year-of-the-end events you have to participate in?

I need all the info I can get b4 I choose to teach in middle school, rather than continue working in elementary schools.Middle School teachers, need help!!!!?
I am a middle school teacher. 7th grade math and just completed my first year. I have never taught elementary so I would not know how hard the transition is. I know where I live I had to basically get my degree in math to teach prealgebra. It depends on the school district on how many events there are. I have parent meetings, open houses, dances, picnics, and tutoring after school I have to be apart off.

The picnics are at the end of the year for those who were ';good'; students that I have to attend

Is it possible to arrange to observe a middle school class where you were thinking about teaching and ask the teacher how they like it.

As for me I love it(but I'm fairly new at it so I'm excited to do all the tedious things) the only thing is that teaching the same lesson 5 times a day can be boring but by the end of the day you are flying thru itMiddle School teachers, need help!!!!?
I am going in to my first year of teaching 6th grade math this fall. I had 3rd and 5th graders for the past two years.

I think teaching the same subject 4-5 times each day would be a bit easier. However, you may want to talk to the staff to find out more of the duties you would have.

Can I get In trouble for posting a fight From school on youtube?

This question has already been asked, but Here is the problem. I posted a video of me acting like I was changing grades (i had some edit link and i could edit anything on page) i got called to the office they checked it out to see if it was real i dont how how they found it).

Then I posted a video of this kid busting an axe bomb on the bus and got suspended for remainder of year (1 month n a half) until my dad went and talked to the principal. So now i'll ask again, will i get in trouble for posting a fight? Can I get In trouble for posting a fight From school on youtube?
STOP POSTING THINGS!Can I get In trouble for posting a fight From school on youtube?
    asd
    totally
if they find it YES. i would advise you to just take it off. its not worth it to get suspended.
UH DUH!!! MY brothers friends did that and they got in HUGE trouble!
Yes, you can. It is most likely against school policy. You will probably face detention, or possibly even suspension. Good luck.
    no, u wont
    It depends.
Yeah if the school finds out.
if they find u yes and if u do post it send as a link pls
    yep
How dumb can you be? If you got in trouble for the other two then YES! the principal is probably watching your youtube channel. DONT DO IT!
Why would you do that anyway?

Can't you find better things to do with your time?
It all depends if nobody knows about the fight then don't post it whom ever got in the fight may be arrested but i just wouldn't do it if i were you
    no,

if you do tell your dad to reason with the school
depends, are you dumb enough to put the name of your school, your name or other info that could lead to you putting that video on youtube

but if you dont get caught, then no, you wont get into trouble
Even though i think you wont its better to be safe than sorry!!! So what i suggest is that you don't do it just keep it too your self
    Yes you could.

It sounds like your principal doesnt even like you so lay off him okay?
Seeing as they found out about the first videos and that you're already on their radar, my guess is YES. You WILL get busted and you will probably serve an equal if not greater punishment than suspension.
Yes you can, you can be considered an accessory to battery
It's not illegal. And you can, but little risk getting beat up by the loser of the fight for being humiliated. Kinda like those myspace girls beating each other up.
posting fights is ****** up anyways.

    not worth it.

and it's embarrassing for whoever was in the fight.
Yes, if it has yourself or other members of your school fight.

Plus they will likely get in trouble too, then they might get mad at you. But on the plus side the next video you post might have you in it.

How long does it take for a school to change a grade?

the last of my professors posted the final grade that i got for the term, it was less than what i calculated it to be, and wasn't right.

i emailed him about it, and turns out he didn't recieve the email for one of my papers. i re-sent it to him, and it changed my grade for the better.

he said yesterday, that today he would be going to the school, and submitting a grade change. ....

anyways, he emailed me that, and said it yesterday, which means he should of done it today. but when i keep checking it online, it still shows the wrong grade that he first put up.

i plan to email him about it tommarow if it doesn't change, but i'm just wondering how long it usually takes for grade to change? How long does it take for a school to change a grade?
Depends on the school, but it can definitely take a while (up to a week) for the change to go through the records office; it's not all up to your professor. How long does it take for a school to change a grade?
This depends on the process at your school. At ours, all grade changes have to be approved by the department chair and the dean before they go to the registrar, so it can take several weeks.
I'd guess that it would take two or three seconds, at most.
Contact the registrar's office. They will know the process and approximate timeline. It will really vary from school to school.

  • How can I file a complaint when I believe that I was discriminated against in college?

This happened in an educational institution. I appealed my grades and I had a hearing but all the same the people at this institution were hard headed and they did not change my grades. I believe I have sufficient evidence to prove that I was discriminated against. I tried to seek legal help but lawyers don't do this kind of law suits. Where can I file a complaint to a higher level? Can some one help? How can I file a complaint when I believe that I was discriminated against in college?
Is it possible that you are too hard-headed to accept the grades you received?

As for proving discrimination, you may need to speak with the dean or president of your school. You could also contact the U.S. Department of Education and see if they know what you can do.
