Anyone can give me a tip for how to say or write to my professor?

I turned in my essay. I spend a lot of time for it and I expected to get a good grade. However, he gave me B instead of A . I asked him the reason because I really needed an A for my transfer. He suggested me to write to him about requesting the grade change. How can I write a letter nicely and diplomatically? Can anyone share a few words to move or touch professor's mind to change my grade?Anyone can give me a tip for how to say or write to my professor?
use exactly what you just told us.

You can put in the letter that you needed the A and you were working very hard to get that. You didn't expect less than an A due to all your efforts and that changing your grade will help improve your total grade.

But yet again, you also need to see his point f view and explain that you do understand that too.

You can ask to go over that writing with him and try to rewrite it to make your grade on that paper to an A.Anyone can give me a tip for how to say or write to my professor?
Make it really neat, formal, and gramatically correct. Explain that you put in a ton of effort and you need it to transfer. Mention that you understand that it is his decision but you would really like the grade change. English professor? Put in good vocab, etc.
OK, in your letter you should emphasize the key points you made and how relative they are to your subject.
