Middle School teachers, need help!!!!?

Currently I'm an elementary school teacher, and yes I've had enough dealing with little kids. I have taught middle school english before, for a short period of time and I liked it a bit better because I focused on one lesson, one concept all day long.

I would like to know though, is it worth it for me to change grade levels? How hard is it to work as a middle school teacher all day long for a whole year? Do you recommend teaching math (that's my strength)

Do I have to keep attending parent meetings? What are some of the year-of-the-end events you have to participate in?

I need all the info I can get b4 I choose to teach in middle school, rather than continue working in elementary schools.Middle School teachers, need help!!!!?
I am a middle school teacher. 7th grade math and just completed my first year. I have never taught elementary so I would not know how hard the transition is. I know where I live I had to basically get my degree in math to teach prealgebra. It depends on the school district on how many events there are. I have parent meetings, open houses, dances, picnics, and tutoring after school I have to be apart off.

The picnics are at the end of the year for those who were ';good'; students that I have to attend

Is it possible to arrange to observe a middle school class where you were thinking about teaching and ask the teacher how they like it.

As for me I love it(but I'm fairly new at it so I'm excited to do all the tedious things) the only thing is that teaching the same lesson 5 times a day can be boring but by the end of the day you are flying thru itMiddle School teachers, need help!!!!?
I am going in to my first year of teaching 6th grade math this fall. I had 3rd and 5th graders for the past two years.

I think teaching the same subject 4-5 times each day would be a bit easier. However, you may want to talk to the staff to find out more of the duties you would have.
