High School?! What should I expect/look forward too? HELP!!!?

I know this is long.. but PLEASE read it... I'm in desperate need!! Also, where I live we have 3 middle schools that are combining and the High School here that I'll be attending is HUGE.

Through 7th grade I had a lot of friends, got along with everyone, and was very confident. However, I got unacceptable grades. As I got into 8th grade I reminded myself how badly I wanted good grades. I worked extremely hard, studied, and did great on homework. I will be happily graduating with Honors this year :D.

I'm more than happy with my grades, and I plan on continuing this throughout high school. 8th grade changed for me- I became someone different. I found out who my real friends were, and I became an all-over academic person. I love that about me; but I am now less confident, (barely,) and I never hang out, or go to movies, or the mall with friends. Why? I simply don't have any real friends. My ';best friends'; spread vicious rumors about me, and now I'm alone. I sit with my new friends now, and one of them is a really close friend of mine; but none of them are like a best friend to me. It sucks because I'll be graduating in June, and starting High School in early September. My 8th grade peers are indescribable. You have the popular girls who already get along %26amp; know most of the high school girls %26amp; boys. They wear pounds of foundation, caked on blush, clumped eyelashes filled with mascara, and talk crap about everyone and don't talk to you unless you're popular. Stupidity best describes it. I just ignore them and go to school because I'll never see them again after high school.

I plan on graduating with a GPA over 3.8 and entering the Buisness career feild that has to do with selling computers, or has to do with computers. I have big goals- but I also want to have a good time in High School. Since my confidence has dropped I feel like I'm screwed when I enter high school. I'm only 5'0 tall, and I'm going to be surrounded by a LOT of kids who are wayyyy bigger than me. I'm scared of upperclassmen.

I'm going to wear a backpack because no way on earth am I going to suffer wearing a tote like I do now lol. Also, I am a girly-girl but I will be taking a Technology and Engineering class as a replacement for Earth Science.. but it still counts as a regular science class. I'm scared I'm going to go into that class with a bunch of hot guys and other guys looking at me like I'm a freak.

I'll also be taking only one honors class which will be English. I'm not going to take more than one honors class because I want to get used to the environment. I'm going to sign up for student council, and vollyball.

QUESTONS:

1. What do you think the guys will think when they see a girl walk in a Technology %26amp; Engineering class?

2. If upperclassmen try to talk to me I'll assume they'll only want to get in my pants.. so would it be a good idea if I ignored them?

3. I don't know how I'm going to meet friends. I know from the clubs I'll be joining and stuff.. but I want to make a best friend.. is that possible?

4. What are High School girls %26amp; boys like?

5. On the first day I'm thinking of bringing: my backpack which will be lime green, dark purple, or pink, pencil case w/ pens, pencils %26amp; highlighters, a folder for every class, 2 notebooks (i don't like carrying one around for each subject), and a book. Is that good?

6. What should I wear? My style is preppy (not overly dramatic like hollister %26amp; abercrombie and fitch signs everywhere,) and I'm also into forever 21 clothes.

7. What should I look foward to and expect?

8. What will I hate about high school?

Sorry this is long but thank you SO much for answering!High School?! What should I expect/look forward too? HELP!!!?
Hey, I'm a Junior in High school and also one of next years captains for volleyball! :)

Ok, first off let me tell you this. RELAX! What happened to you happens to everyone. Believe me. No one ever likes middle school once they look back to it. I hardly have the same friends from there besides friends I made in elementary school and friends from band and volleyball. I was scared too to go to high school but trust me when I say that it's a billjillian times better then middle school. M.school is a confusing time for preteens and new teens. So with that it's very dramatic. No one will be exactly like they are in m.school cu zthey all learn form their embarrassing mistakes.

I would like to know where you are from. Cuz our schools and environment may have a lot different atmosphere. So I'm just going to tell you what high school is like for me, in Minnesota.

Now in 11th grade. This year is very relaxed. We have more privleges, it rocks being the big kids of the school, and we don't really have to worry too much about college yet, although many look into it and start taking their ACT. I haven't yet, probably won't until summer or early next year. People gossip doesn't exist anymore between most people. Most cliches are opened up and most get along. People are A LOT less dramatic and friendly. Something about being in 11th grade just changes ones way of thinking. One becomes a lot more mature and kind. That's why I'm loving this year. Plus I've made more firneds this year, even though I've become distant from friends I had in freshman year cuz they either changed or we just never saw eachother.

Answers to your questions:

1. Seriously, they won't care. Just don't act all bubble headed. There are soem classes in my school where there are like 3 girls and the rest are guys, and this was just one of the honors English class. Girls and boys kuttie stage doesn't exist anymore, more chilled.

2.No! Upperclass men aren't like that at all! They just wan to help you out. Of course there are some creeps that are like that but majority are really nice.

3. yess, how couldn't you. Just start a simple convo with a partner. It's not intimidating. People also get different best friends. But for me, I still have a lot of friends from elementary or preschool lol. I think of having about 3-5 best friends along with a bunch of other close friends. I guess my locker partner is considered my best-best friend. We met in 7th grade, we had math and band together. We just clicked. She's a Cancer, I'm a Pisces so of course we do. My other close friends are an Aquarius, some Cancers, Taurus, and Aries. My best friends from preschool who moved, i met during volleyball JO season in 8th grade. It's impossible not to become friends with teamates from sports or such things as band. I've made a ton just from those along. Band is also one of my favorite classes cuz it's all people who are passionate about music and have a general way or thinking as in be kind, we all get along. So join band, choir, or orchestra, cuz music classes bring a ton of opportunities like going to New York and getting to know new people.

4. Well that's a really wide question. Some girls are valley but more are real, some guys are ***** but more are really sweat. It all depends on who you hang out around.

5. No, it's not. At my high school we can't carry backpacks around (purses are ok, but those who bring purses to class seem really uppity). During you first week of school you really don't need much, just bring one folder, notebook, and something to right with. Cuz all you doing is talkign about rules and gettign parent signitures. You will soon come to realize that you NEED to have a seperate binder for every class. There is so much work and then you can lose stuff more often. Orginization makes life soooo much easier which high school students tend to struggle with lol. I also have a seperate notebook and folder for each class. But, I bring this one folder to every class where I put all my homework so i won't forget to bring it home. I also carry around a few pencils which I fit in my folder.

6. Whatever YOU like. There are a ton of different styles. Just dress like yourself. Charolette Russe (sp?) and wet seal are the favorite stores cuz through the year, especially by 11th grade, such brands as Hollister and A%26amp;F seem identity less and we don't want to be name branded. Plus that scheisse is way overpriced and tooooooo tight! Just don't wear hoochie clothes or dress like someone your not, cuz that really bothers people. Don't reveal too much cleavage i you early years of high school cuz your still considered a little kid. Wear stuff that compliments your body. Unlike Hollister which is spandex and makes someone who is actually skinny look like they are flabby. Jeans shouldn't be too tight, although plenty of girls, and some boys, do wear em' that way. They can be loss.

7. look forward to all the fun high school activities, new people, and the cool things you learn in class. There are some really funny teachers that make class oh so much funner. Don't worry, you not the only one nervous or scared for the first day of school. Even Junior and Seniors get the nerves on the first day! So you are never alone. At my school we have just a thing called Hound Pack(mascots a Greyhound) and it's upper classmen that help out and support the freshman through out the year by having fun activities with groups are just pointing you to the right direction. The upper classmen are here to help you, so don't be afraid to ask a question and helping hand. There are some poeple you should avoid, but still be nice. Just stay around the nice crowds. Gangs and druggie groups will not help you. School assemblies at my school are the bomb! Oh, and look forward to foreign exchange students!!!! They are so sexyyyy!!! Bolivan, Norwegian, German... God, they are so hot and teh Bolivian can sing liek and angel and the Norwegian looks liek a mix of Zac Efron and Strify. The Germans are just hot period.

8. The homework and some tough classes. The cafeteria food is also fattning. Also some people really bug me with their rudness, which is usually from the under classmen. And some don't know how to walk down the hallways so sometimes I'm almost getting late to class (even though tardies aren't that big of a deal since must teachers are understanding and lenient unless you late everyday). Then when groups of friends clog the hallways like cholesterol so you can't get by. When people stop in the middle of the hallway to talk to friends so you run into them or once again can't get by. When ppl step on the back of you shoe. My school parking lot is really small so only Seniors get the parking lot, everyone else has to park on the street, even from blocks away. Really, it's not bad. High schools actually a good experience.

Like I was sayign before, your high school may be different. Even though are school has old structure, the people are very friendly and damn smart. Minnesota nice I guess. Our school scored in the highest ranks of education scores, especially on MCA's. We also have a ton of after school activities like Philosophie club, Mario Smash Brothers club, knitting club, talent show, school plays, ice cream social, open mic, skating party, an awesome grill team, beautiful concerts, green club, garden club, gay straight alliance, film show, key club, open mind club, spanish club, anime club, student forum, prom committie, ping pong league, exec board, association, kick asss assemblies, chicken strip Wednesdays, and so soooooooo much more. I'm very proud of my school. We have around 1,700 students, more to come. There are three high school in my city so were getting rid of one and remaking two, my school is staying. So yeah, the students are very involved and open minded. It's not like most high school as I've herd. Plus the foreign exchange students just LOVE it here.

Whether they are goth, a cheerleader, gay, sporty, it shouldn't matter!!! We all have different interest and all just trying to get by and learn about themselves. Of course there are idiots that are so immature and valley like, meaning they still act like drama queens that are judgmental, but they aren't the popluar ones (even though popularity doesn't really matter anymore). My best advice is for you to keep an open mind and an open heart to everyone. I just got this way this year. You have to accept everyone and remember PEOPLE CHANGE!! All the time. I'm not the same person in 7th grade, 8th, 9th, 10th, or even the beggening of 11th grade! So don't give up on people, most likely they feel guilty for how they acted in their past.

Get as involved as you can. You'll have fun. Sure there are plenty of times that high school just pisses you off, but over all, it's a time that you should cherish. you get to be sorta care free, not have to be an adult yet with you parents still paying bills, providing food and support, and keeping a roof over you head. Junior and Senior year you don't spend as much time at home cuz you'll want to go out. I like staying home but suddenly I have an urge to explore and hang with friends.

Good Luck. It's ok to be nervous. Message me if you have any questions or just need to talk.

Kwaheri :)High School?! What should I expect/look forward too? HELP!!!?
1. They will think holy **** a girl, lucky us. Seing as how you're a girl they will probably be nice to you.

2. Most of the time this is true, but I would not ignore them they can be good friends, help with homework you don't get and as f relationships they're not always sex addicts; my 2 friends are in a commited relationship (freshmen girl and senior boy. Just as a rule of thumb say hi and such, but don't put yourself out there or flirt at first and see if they like you if they try to flirt with you fck them you don't need them.

3. I had the same thing happen to me with the whole finding your real friends thing so I ditched them and had lunch with my friend from science class I barely knew and we really hit it off and he introduced me to some new people and one of them became my new bf.

4. They're not much different than middle schoolers besides having sex a lot more often; and being more mature (in most cases).

5. That sounds good, but I'd recommend a 1 inch 3 ring binder because atleast 1 or 2 teachers will require it and it makes life easier organization wise.

6. I can't really say in specifics because I'm a guy and all, but you should wear something that sets you apart from the crowd so you're not just another face. At the same time not something to flashy that would get you noticed by everyone and make stupid guys whistle at you or say damn she's hot because if that happens you just become another hot piece of ***. Sorry if I'm to blunt.

7. You can look forward to a fun new experience with lots of options and new people to befriend.

8. Most likely all the essays and homework it can be a bit to much at times so make sure you cherish your weekends.

So all and all high school is nothing to be worried about, hope I helped I'm in 9th grade atm if it matters. Good luck!

I answered this all little by little because I'm on my phone so ya it took forevor. Death to touch screens!!!
